Eurotech today announces a 10 million USD contract to supply embedded computers to Cubic Transportation, the world's leading turnkey solution provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport. Destined for use in the smart card ticketing system on the transport system of a major European capital, the contract will see 20,000+ units installed in buses and station gates throughout the network. Each unit will interface directly to a smart card reader and relay both passenger and journey information into the fare collection system
“Transportation is proving to be a rewarding market for Eurotech” says Roberto Siagri, President and CEO of Eurotech. “The order book is growing and I’m very pleased about how things are moving forward: after the 7.5 million USD contract that was announced in March, this is the second multi-million contract win this year, and I’m confident there’s more to come.”

“The successful introduction of this single board computer demonstrates not only Eurotech’s technical capabilities in embedded solutions, but also is testament to our ability to build design partnerships with our clients and find pragmatic solutions to the challenges that companies face during such projects” explains Frank Cutri, Eurotech’s European Managing Director. ”Cubic’s requirements needed a combination of hardware, software and domain expertise, backed by the stability of a global Group and the service of a local organisation, and Eurotech was able to demonstrate capability in all of these areas.”
