Embedded Masterclass to Present Windows Embedded Compact 7 Workshop
UMR, the organisers of The Embedded Masterclass 2011 have announced a selection of workshops to be presented at this year’s event, which will be held near Cambridge on the 5th October. www.embedded-masterclass.com
TopiEngineers wishing to register a place on a workshop should visit www.embedded-masterclass.com for further details and registration.
The workshops have been a key feature of this event, said David Williams of UMR. They are a chance for engineers to accelerate their knowledge and understanding of certain aspects of emerging embedded technologies. In this respect, this year's agenda provides an exciting mix of essential new technologies presented by some of the most knowledgeable and talented people in the industry.
A leading workshop for this year's event will be a Windows Embedded Compact 7 Technical Session. A hands-on session that guides users who are new to Microsoft's small-footprint real-time embedded OS which offers extensive connectivity, rich multimedia and user-interface capabilities. The session will take embedded engineers through the development process, introducing the capabilities and features along the way. Delegates will learn how to configure, build and implement a Windows Embedded Compact 7 image.
This session will be presented by William White who is one of the UK’s electronics industry's most recognised trainers. William is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and Technical Director of Windows Embedded Gold Partner, Direct Insight. His day-to-day work involves mentoring users on the practical use of Windows Embedded. William has classroom-trained thousands of engineers in a wide variety of technically demanding subjects during his 25 years in the industry.

We are looking forward to being a part of this year's Embedded Masterclass, said William. Windows Embedded Compact 7, the latest version of Windows CE, offers comprehensive connectivity, real-time performance, really neat tools, and for the first time, the chance to build rich user-interfaces with Silverlight. Many users don't like the Windows look and feel, and that doesn't have to be evident. It's a cost effective solution that gets users to market fast, and engineers attending my session will get in-depth hands-on exposure.
Over the past 9 years, the Embedded Masterclass has established itself as an important UK event for engineers looking to explore the most recent tools and technologies for the development of embedded systems. Over the years it has grown from a small seminar into a much larger event that now includes a tabletop exhibition, an agenda of technical presentations and the collection of high quality workshops. It attracts electronics engineers, embedded computing engineers, designers and project managers, giving them the chance to meet with engineers from many of the world's leading vendors of development tools and realtime and embedded technologies.
The Embedded Masterclass is recognised for the quality of its presentations, which are technical in content and presented by experienced and knowledgeable engineers. It's free to engineers and managers in the technology sector, although the workshop carries a small charge.
