Electrone integrate IP keypad with Immix software through SureView agreement

Electrone Europe and SureView Systems, provider of video-based automated alarm management software platforms, announce a partnership agreement after testing and verifying the Electrone 720 IP keypad with Immix software. This product integration allows both Electrone and SureView to provide the Managed Access Control market with an IP keypad-based solution.
Through establishing the partnership agreement, SureView has integrated support for the Electrone 720 IP keypads into their Immix monitoring platform. This was initially undertaken once they were approached by a security systems customer with the requirement for low-cost, keypad based managed access system to secure premises. The Electrone 720 IP keypad, which features 2x16 LCD character display and a 17-key arrangement, specifically designed to meet the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substance) environmental standard, were also customised to include a re-designed motherboard and increased voltage to enable the use of cameras and integration with the Immix software.

Craig Evans, Managing Director, SureView Systems comments, “SureView develop and support the Immix software platform which provides central monitoring stations with a uniform way of handling all events, alarms and CCTV equipment from remotely monitored sites. The Immix platform is currently used by over 50 major monitoring stations around the world and integrates over 100 different manufacturer devices and remote systems. Although Immix supports industry standard Access Control solutions, the integration of the Electrone 720 IP keypads adds the ability to provide simple and low-cost keypad based door access control where a full Access Control system is not required or would be too expensive.”

Evans continues, “Electrone were identified as a manufacturer with excellent customer support, a good range of relevant products and the willingness to work with us to address the needs of the Managed Access Control market. The Electrone 720 IP keypads already had the physical capabilities to integrate with Immix, however our security customer needed specific 'firmware' written in order for it to successfully address the requirements of an Access Control device.”

Using the Electrone 720 IP keypads, door entry is linked with on-site CCTV devices and a two-way audio and door relay which is controlled automatically through the SureView Immix platform. The remote monitoring station has an audit trail of all door access, along with CCTV images automatically captured at the time of the door opening. Invalid access attempts are raised as an alarm at the remote central station and can be dealt with immediately with CCTV and two-way audio to help identify the threat. The integration of the Electrone keypad with the CCTV camera and software platform dramatically increases the security of the site and also provides better customer support for valid users who may have forgotten their access code.

Evans comments, “The use of a device such as the Electrone 720 IP keypad as an access control solution is unique in the market and we are not aware of any other system that does this. By integrating the keypads with SureView Immix, we have created a very powerful way of providing managed Access Control at a very minimal cost to the end user. Once the first pilot installation, currently in testing, has concluded at these offices, we will be offering this as an innovative solution to all our existing and new customers.”

The notification element means the 720 IP keypad can be used on any network throughout the world and we can also install the custom built firmware on the Power over Ethernet version of the keypad.
