Electric car factory ceases construction

The US-based start-up has plans to emerge as a rival to Tesla and its first production vehicle, the FF91, was unveiled at the CES show in January and is planned for a 2018 launch.

However, with production on the company’s Nevada factory having halted, there were already murmurs of discontent at the show, which weren’t helped by a malfunction during an autonomous parking demonstration and since then, one of the company’s major financial backers has had his assets frozen.

In a statement released earlier this week the company has stated that it still has long term plans for vehicles manufacture in Nevada, although these plans will be scaled back slightly, and is continuing in its attempts to raise further funds for the project.
