Dual-ports for industrial control, medical imaging and communications applications from IDT
IDT has announced the availability of two new dual port devices to its family of multi-port devices. For applications ranging from industrial control to medical imaging and communications, the new 9Mbit and 4Mbit dual-port devices deliver 200MHz performance to satisfy demanding memory buffering requirements. By offering a 1.8V core voltage, the devices require significantly less power than existing solutions.
DualThe new 9Mbit IDT 70P3519 and 4Mbit 70P3599 are high-speed 256k/128k x 36bit synchronous dual-port devices, providing a comprehensive range of synchronous functionality to allow customers to optimise their designs for greater performance and lower power. In addition, the devices also enable customers to manage simultaneous access to a single memory address without the need for external devices. Synchronous functions include counters, multiple independent chip and byte enables, and synchronous interrupts, while registers on control, data and address inputs feature minimal setup-and-hold times. By including input data registers, the dual-port devices are optimised for applications having unidirectional or bi-directional data flow in bursts. An automatic power-down feature, controlled by CE0 and CE1 chip enable pins, permits the on-chip circuitry of each port to enter a very low standby power mode.
Both the 70P3519 and 70P3599 devices support I/O voltages of 3.3, 2.5 or 1.8V on one or both ports, from a core supply voltage of 1.8V. To ease adoption, both devices are available in the same packages as existing IDT dual-port solutions: 266pin BGA (Ball Grid Array), 208pin PQFP (Plastic Quad FlatPack), and 208 fpBGA (fine pitch BGA).
