Dialog Semiconductor announces Sony as first audio customer, establishes market leadership in ultra low power audio codecs
Dialog Semiconductor plc (FWB: DLG), a provider of highly integrated innovative power management semiconductor solutions, has announced its DA7211 audio IC has been adopted by Sony.
The DA7211 is the industry's lowest power audio codec. The first Sony consumer device to benefit from Dialog's audio technology is the new series of compact digital recorders. Sony has already launched this high end IC recorder product series.
Sony's latest IC recorders incorporate Sony's proprietary and advanced S-Mic recording technology with dual A/D converters included for wider dynamic range and improved signal to noise ratio (SNR).
The DA7211 comes with a simple to use interface and general purpose filter, which enables manufacturers to optimise the output signal for small on board speakers and enclosures, delivering even complex 3D spatial effects. The 3x3mm chip has the lowest quiescent power consumption in its class.
