Dassault Systèmes expands its V6 portfolio to design smart products
Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced a new step in its systems strategy with the acquisition of Geensoft, the leading provider of innovative embedded systems development solutions, for 5.5M€. The V6 portfolio is expanded by adding the capacity to model and generate the entire vehicle control software system, allowing a validation loop by connecting the physical equipment with the digital mock up.
Most“I am delighted to have Geensoft’s team of experts join Dassault Systèmes,” said Dominique Florack, senior executive vice president, Products, Research & Development, Dassault Systèmes. “Together we will make the virtual product closer to the real world.”
“As chairman of the Modelica Association,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Otter, Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, DLR Research Center Oberpfaffenhofen. “I am very enthusiastic about this acquisition, which will further boost the smooth integration of Modelica and AUTOSAR provided through the EUROSYSLIB and MODELISAR European Research projects. Modelica is the winning language for multi-disciplinary systems modeling and simulation. You will now be able to generate embedded code directly from Modelica and run it in the context of the virtual product model.”
DS’s V6 PLM platform delivers a unique collaborative environment that will bring together multiple systems engineering disciplines, working with literally hundreds of disconnected domain specific tools today. By leveraging Geensoft technology on the V6 platform, and exploiting the power of 3D together with information search technology, DS is positioned to deliver a new class of PLM systems engineering solutions.
“We are a long-time user of the Geensoft tools, including the AUTOSAR Builder, ControlBuild and Reqtify embedded solutions,” said Patrick Sudan, director of Automation, PSA Peugeot Citroën. “The integration of Geensoft’s innovative capabilities around modeling with DS’s systems engineering solutions and the ability to leverage models in embedded electronics and automation for development, integration and validation is very good news for corporate customers, such as PSA. By providing integration in the PLM design environment, we believe this acquisition has the potential to significantly improve the overall efficiency of our vehicle design process in the future.”
“We couldn’t dream of a better partner than DS to expand the reach of our solutions worldwide. Our customers, such as PSA Peugeot Citroën, Alstom and Airbus have already started to transform their embedded systems design approach. Integration with PLM will open new horizons for many companies in different industries looking to federate their innovation efforts,” said Marc Frouin, CEO, Geensoft. “The implementation of end-to-end solutions for the modeling of functions and architecture, including embedded code, for the automotive, rail, and aerospace industries, will enable us to facilitate the delivery of new innovative products to the market and streamline development time and cost.”
