Cypress Semiconductor have today announced the keynote speeches that will be presented at the upcoming PSoC World international virtual embedded design conference on December 12 and 13. The speakers at the event include:
T.J. Rodgers, President and CEO of Cypress
• Greg Provenzano, Vice President of Global Engineering, and Rachel Black, Corporate Supplier Manager, for Arrow Electronics
• Tom Lantzsch, Executive Vice President of Strategy for ARM

Registration for this free event is available here.

Rodgers has brought a focus on analytics and operational efficiency to his Clos De La Tech winery in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains. This led him to implement PSoC-based wireless sensing and control technology that eventually expanded to the University of California at Davis, a world-renowned leader in winemaking and viticulture. This keynote will look at the unique design problems posed by implementing the technology at UC Davis’ 12,000-square-foot Mondavi Center, which contains more than 150 wine fermenters.

In Arrow’s keynote address, Provenzano and Black will examine embedded application development and the advances in distributed sensing, connectivity and mixed signal integration. Customers and embedded designs supported by Arrow’s engineering service center will be featured, showcasing Arrow’s sophisticated ecosystem for board design, software integration, certification and manufacturing.

“PSoC World is a unique venue with embedded designers from around the globe in one virtual setting,” said Provenzano. “Arrow is excited to deliver this keynote, which we feel will resonate well with the engineering audience.”

ARM’s Lantzsch will examine how innovation throughout the ARM partnership has resulted in an explosion of smart MCUs and embedded systems coming to life in the power-efficiency revolution. The massive growth in global energy consumption is creating opportunities for ‘smart energy’ innovation throughout the ARM partnership in three key areas: the smart grid, smart meters and, lastly, the connected appliances and systems (including sensors) – that are so important for the Internet of Things. This keynote will track the growth of the ARM ecosystem and examine how, together, the partnership can continue to address the energy efficiency challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

“PSoC World is a great environment to discuss the global energy challenges facing designers of embedded systems,” said Lantzsch. “We expect a lively response to this topic from designers of many different kinds of products around the world.”
