It has been announced that Computrol has acquired Western Electronics, as Computrol will merge the Western Electronics’ Meridian facility with its existing local facility, and operate the Denver, CO facility under the Computrol name.

As a result of the acquisition, Computrol increases its cable and wire harness capabilities. Western Electronics has been building custom cables and wire-harnesses for more than 30 years, providing delivery on demand for low, medium, and high volume customer requirements.

Computrol will build on this expertise to offer a wide variety of custom solutions including molded cable assemblies, RF, Coaxial, wire-harnesses, and mold making and machining. The addition of the Denver facility also brings advanced automated through hole capabilities.

Western Electronics is BSI Registered to ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 13485:2003. Its Meridian plant is an authorised UL cabling/wire harness facility.

Jon Hanson, Sales and Marketing Manager commented: “We feel that Western Electronics’ people and culture are a great fit for Computrol, and this acquisition is a major step in our strategy to increase revenues and capture a larger share of the electronics contract manufacturing market.”

Computrol now serves its customers from three facilities in Orem, UT, Denver, CO and its headquarters in Meridian. Computrol has a long history of providing electronics contract manufacturing services and support to blue-chip customers ranging from military and medical electronics, to telecommunications and computer peripherals.
