CLEANKey Keyboard & Mouse Ideal for Increased Infection Control Compliance in Dental Clinics
Devlin Medical is witnessing great interest in their CleanKey washable keyboard and mouse from dental clinics. This demand has arisen due to the changes in the UK Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 01-05 dental infection control regulations. These changes have significantly “raised the bar” in terms of the basic infection control compliance standards dental surgeries must adhere to.
The CleanKey keyboard and mouse are molded from waterproof silicon rubber so they can be wiped or submersed in cleaning fluid for disinfection. The name CleanKey is derived from the patented clean key function on the keyboard - the clean key allows the keyboard to be disabled instantly for cleaning at the point-of-use. The clean key was highlighted, in the development of the keyboard, as a vital function to help promote regular cleaning by minimising the disruption to normal work flow. The CleanKey keyboard, unlike many other washable keyboards, features raised keys that help users maintain touch-typing ability. The CleanKey products are designed to promote effective and efficient infection control practices without impairing the users work patterns.
“The CleanKey products were initially developed for use in hospitals but ever since they went on sale, just over two years ago, we have seen demand from other areas including dental surgeries.” explains Devlin Managing Director, Martin Baker. “The updated HTM 01-05 regulations mean the CleanKey products are now an essential purchase to raise infection control compliance.”
Baker concluded by saying “The CleanKey products are a unique solution to the problem of infection control compliant peripherals – they allow users to follow strict hygiene routines without impacting on their working routines. You can disinfect the keyboard and mouse thoroughly and be back working again in less than a minute.”
