ChipWrights CW5631 SoC Selected as the Video DSP in Video Surveillance Cameras
ChipWrights, Inc.—part of AD Group—Announced that CCTV Giant Dedicated Micros selects the CW5631 System-on-Chip (SoC) as the video DSP for its CamVu Mini-Dome IP Cameras.
“Dsaid Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing for Dedicated Micros, a leader in video surveillance equipment.
CamVu cameras are high-specification solutions, which integrate many market-leading features available in the CW5631 SoC, such as:
• Integrated Camera Recording (ICR)
• Video analytics
• Multi-streaming programmable CODEC architecture
The CW5631 SoC enables the transmission of multiple simultaneous MPEG-4 and/or JPEG images to networked devices for viewing and recording. Streams can be tailored to suit the viewer’s available bandwidth.
“With the CW5631 SoC, Dedicated Micros will maximize their return-on-investment, said Cary Robins, ChipWrights' President. The CW5631 SoC’s powerful ViSP engine supports a wide-variety of camera features
on a single platform, allowing Dedicated Micros to expand on this platform in future generations of their breakthrough product,” added Robins.
Low-cost, low power and wide variety of I/O options make the CW5631 well suited to IP camera applications. Software programmability allows customers to add significant high-value features to their product.
The CW5631 is a DSP-based SoC designed for multi-purpose applications that require high-speed digital imaging processing, small size, and low power consumption. The CW5631 offers an alternative to fixed function devices in imaging applications. It is optimized to handle large volumes of streaming data while providing a scalable and programmable platform. The CW5631 SoC enables developers to design premium embedded multimedia applications at a low cost.
