Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration A/S acquires NoViSim to consolidate its position in Simulation and NVH decision making
The move brings on board the NVH Simulator and SoNoScout products as well as the development team that produced them, adding a wealth of signal processing and automotive NVH knowledge to the company. “Our long association with many automotive companies has allowed us to develop unique solutions to the difficult issues facing NVH engineers,” said Mark Allman-Ward of NoViSim. “Being part of Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration allows those tools to be used in a wider range of applications.”
The acquisition is in line with Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration’s strategic direction to strengthen its Automotive product portfolio by providing an integrated NVH platform for vehicle development programs at OEMs and suppliers. “Our customers want to make more informed and rapid NVH decisions, whether it’s in concept development, design development or production management”, said Lars Rønn, Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration’s CEO. “We have a continuous program of improvement for these tools and believe that a tighter integration of the NoViSim products with our existing solutions’ portfolio will lead to a more efficient environment for NVH development.”
Since 2005, the NoViSim team has been continuously extending the application range of the NVH Simulator portfolio in close cooperation with Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration. The NVH Simulator has been adopted by a growing number of Automotive OEMs and Suppliers for improved NVH decision-making. New enhancements and products are planned to further improve the application of this ground breaking technology for the benefit of Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration’s customers.
SoNoScout is an innovative portable acquisition solution that allows rapid recording and post-processing of vehicle interior noise and can be used to create source data for the NVH Simulator. A significant revision of this product is planned based on customer feedback and taking advantage of recent technical advances.
