Best practices for the commercialization of advanced technologies

Collecting a dynamic professional community from Europe and all over the world pHealth has given visibility to the tremendous potential of micro and nano technologies not only for the future of medicine, but also for the improvement of healthcare processes today. The pHealth 2013 event is on track to becoming a great success on its 10th anniversary year. The conference brings new topics such as gaming and big data management side-byside with those that reflect the tradition of pHealth – wearable and implantable medical devices and microsystems.

COWIN is working in close collaboration with the pHealth conference organisers to design this event
as a platform dedicated to be up to date with the latest developments in health care technologies,
learn about innovative solutions for health management and meet health technology experts from
both research and industry. Thus this year COWIN will organise a COWIN Marketplace during the
conference main program focusing on the identification of business, funding and technological
opportunities for health care technologies as well as on the identification of best partners to bring
innovative technologies to market.

In addition, the pHealth 2013 pre-conference events will include a panel workshop on gaming technologies, the official EFMI workshop on Reuse and Secondary use of Health Data, and the COWIN workshop: “Best practices for the commercial exploitation of advanced technology and access to most relevant funding support”. The topic of COWIN workshop will be illustrated by the Telemedicine perspective on June 26th at 3:15 PM.

Last but not least, COWIN will give a short presentation on how to support the projects on commercial exploitation during the “EUROPEAN SUCCESS STORIES“ session on 28th June 2013 from 09:00 to 11:00.
