Avnet Embedded Receives Two Honours from Microsoft in EMEA
Avnet Embedded has announced that two members of its customer-facing team have been presented with major performance awards by Microsoft. Nick Donaldson, director of Software, Avnet Embedded, received the Microsoft Franchise Manager of the Year award for outstanding leadership and management skills, and Cesare de Siena, business development manager, Italy also received a Circle of Excellence award for market innovation.
Commenting on the awards, Doug Follett, EMEA & Americas sales director, OEM Embedded Devices division at Microsoft, said, “Nick Donaldson and his team at Avnet Embedded achieved growth in every region that they cover during extraordinarily demanding market conditions and at a time of considerable change within the organisation. Nick has been an outstanding and exceptionally driven business partner for Microsoft for the five years that I have worked with him and has seen huge success developing and growing the market for a complex suite of technologies and products. In the context of a global downturn and the acquisition of Abacus Embedded by Avnet, his performance has been beyond exceptional both in developing his relationship with Microsoft and motivating his team to deliver. We warmly congratulate him on this well-deserved award.”
At the same time, Cesare de Siena was presented with a Circle of Excellence award for his incredible performance driving multiple new designs, which helped build the Italian business in one of the countries most affected by the economic downturn, . Follett added, “Cesare de Siena has built a great presence for Microsoft in Italy, which is reflected in the very high number of new customers he was able to develop.”
