Arrow Helps Develop Cholesterol Exercise Monitor
Arrow Northern Europe has played a key role in helping fitness technology specialist Newtest develop and manufacture a new device that monitors physical activity designed to lower ‘bad’ cholesterol levels.
Recent studies have shown that appropriate aerobic physical activity has a key role to play in the reduction of LDL (or ‘bad’) cholesterol levels. Launched this month, the Newtest Cholesterol Exercise Monitor tracks and records a user’s physical activities and provides feedback on how well those activities are matched to cholesterol reduction. This feedback can then be used to motivate the user and to refine and manage an appropriate exercise regime.
As oIn addition to supplying product, Arrow FAEs and technical teams supported the Newtest engineering team during the monitor’s development phase. Arrow personnel also worked closely with the contract manufacturer appointed to produce the finished product.
“The new Cholesterol Exercise Monitor is a further extension of an innovative technology platform that helps users tailor exercise regimes to specific goals such as cholesterol reduction,” states Marko Ala-Ketola, Newtest’s managing director. “We have worked closely with Arrow who have supported us at every stage of the new product, from initial concept to final manufacture.”
Veikko Sohlman, the general manager of Arrow Finland adds: “Arrow’s combination of global strength and local focus is a perfect match for Newtest. By working closely with the Newtest design teams and the company’s contract manufacturing partner we have been able to tailor our product, support and logistical offerings to perfectly match the company’s design and production requirements.”
