App offers a secure alternative to email
The recent Collection #1 data dump where 773 email addresses were compromised is yet another reminder of the security weakness of email. Thankfully, a tiny independent company NOS Microsystems has come up with an airtight alternative to the dated and insecure communications system. The company’s cost free and ad free multiplatform app, get®2Clouds, is a secure messenger, large file transfer and cloud sync. It does everything email does are more, but with none of the security woes.
“Emails can be spied on every time because they are protected with a weak password system,” said Oliver Wessling, CEO of NOS Microsystems. “Oftentimes they are not even encrypted. Corporations simply should not communicate via email. If a hacker gets hold of an email account they have potentially years of communications, data, and attachments. You can say goodbye to your trade secrets. For security, they need to communicate through a different channel. get2Clouds offers that and it’s very easy to use,” he added.
Instead of an email address, users of get2Clouds are automatically assigned a 555 number when they register. They can change the number to their phone number or a 555 number of their choosing. They can register their SIM number if they wish, but it is the only free messenger where users don’t have to register their SIM number.
The app works on SIM-less devices as well as dual-SIM device as there is a dual profile option. “It’s your choice what numbers you assign to your two profiles. You can use two 555 numbers if you want or two real numbers or one of each. We just want to make it easier for users to manage between tasks and contacts,” added Mr. Wessling.
get2Clouds works with all major cloud providers so data on public clouds can be encrypted and transferred. Users can also secure and send via their network attached storage (NAS), making their NAS their own private cloud. “This is the perfect solution for smaller businesses that do not need to buy cloud space. This way, they can store their data locally and securely.”
When sending files via get2Clouds, a double layer of encryption is applied. The patented data transfer technology used within the app already secures over one billion downloads annually for the industrial automation sector.
“2018 was the year of the data breach and a year when average internet users had their eyes opened to the extent of big tech’s frightening misuse of their data,” added Mr. Wessling. “2019 needs to be the year when the average internet user takes their privacy back. Privacy is a human right and that includes digital privacy too, and get2Clouds protects it.”
get2Clouds is available to download or update now on all major app stores.
