Anixter Components Demonstrates Continuing Success And Experience In Lighting Industry With New Brochure

Anixter Components Solutions has seen a significant increase in the number of UK lighting manufacturers that are turning to them for components because of its reliability and service offering.  The new brochure has been launched to provide design engineers and purchasing professionals with an introduction to Anixter Components’ solutions for lighting, and provides an overview of its standard product lines along with information about its additional services.

Two lighting components in particular are proving to be very popular.  The Click Fit Snap-in Protection Grommet for industrial applications is a revolutionary two-component grommet with cable anchorage, designed to offer many advantages found in a conventional cable gland but at a much-reduced cost.   With the exception of the cable anchorage, the Click-Fit Grommet is compact, self-adjusting to the surrounding wall thickness, has a membrane seal, and is waterproof.

The Click-Fit Grommet is very easy to install saving up to 90% of installation time.  A key feature is that it doesn’t require tools to install, and has a pop-out membrane that is a permanent seal until penetrated by a cable or pipe.  It is available in various sizes, and because of its compact design, it only extends 5.7mm outside the housing on which it is mounted.

Also for industrial lighting applications including machine shops, factories and warehouses, is the Low Profile Snap-In Protection Grommet.  These grommets differ from existing products on the market as they have built-in features including a pop-out membrane to ensure a consistent round opening and IP67, plus a sleeve feature that closes tight around the cable, allowing it to be moved like a joystick without compromising the IP classification.  This means that it works very well with cables passing through at an angle.  These grommets are quick and easy to install, suit cable sizes from 5.0mm to 24.0mm and protect against dust and moisture.  They are available in four sizes – M16, M20, M25 and M32 clearance holes.
