Anglia gets Multitech
As part of its continuing expansion into the embedded applications market, Anglia has won a franchise to distribute a range of socket modems from Multitech. Multitech employs a universal socket into which conventional, GSM wireless or Ethernet modems can be connected without changes to surrounding hardware.
A wiTim Shaw, Anglia’s divisional marketing manager, said, “Multitech products are the first modems we have ever stocked. They complement our microcontroller and FPGA products perfectly, enabling us to offer virtually everything an engineer needs to build a flexible embedded system, complete with communications.”
Serena Sutton, Account Manager EMEA for Multitech, added, “We were attracted to Anglia because they have a different way of going to market. They don’t just talk about technical support, they deliver it, right down to providing the services of a design team to help their customers get products quickly to the proof-of-concept stage. We need to reach designers at the earliest stage of product development and Anglia’s service, together with their large, nationwide sales team, will enable us to do that.”
Multitech products enjoy global approvals, and some are approved for use in medical equipment. Anglia will provide free development kits for every new design registration.
