Altium establishes electronics design laboratory with Suzhou University

It��s part of Altium’s long-term commitment to China’s educational sector, which seeks to nurture the next generation of electronics engineers and to contribute to the country’s electronics design industry through cooperation with higher education institutions and secondary schools.

Lu Jianmei, Vice Principal of Suzhou University, said, Jiangsu and its neighboring provinces represent the most established electronics sector in China. Suzhou University leads in cultivating electronics design talent and received the Altium Practice Innovation Award in the 2010 National Electronics Talent Competition. With more than 1,000 students majoring in electronics in our school, we believe that this cooperation will help to nurture industry-oriented talent that combines professional knowledge, hands-on ability and an innovative spirit!”

Altium plays an important role in nurturing the new generation of electronics engineers. More than 900 universities around the world use Altium as their electronics design software tool of choice. In China, since the start of the Altium Academic Program in 2008, Altium has created joint labs with a number of Chinese universities including Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Northeastern University and Tongji University.

As the cradles of electronics design talent, schools have shouldered the important mission of nurturing the new generation of electronic engineers. And we believe the close cooperation between Altium and Suzhou University will help to provide new electronics design talent to Jiangsu and the whole country.

“Altium believes that electronics design can make a difference, and these students are those who will make a difference in the future.

In addition to the joint laboratory, Altium also donated 50 licenses of Altium Designer with a value of 3 million yuan to Suzhou University to be used for electronics design teaching and training activities. Suzhou University will offer EDA-related courses using Altium Designer and carry out electronics design experiments with students. Altium will authorize Suzhou University to grant students with electronic design certifications in the future.
