AgigA Tech Wins CONNECT Most Innovative Product Award

AgigA Tech Inc., a subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor today announced that its AGIGARAM Non-Volatile System (NVS) has been named the Most Innovative New Product of 2010 in the Hardware and General Technology category at the 23rd CONNECT Awards. CONNECT is a San Diego-based nonprofit dedicated to creating and sustaining innovative technology. The Most Innovative Product Award winners were selected from more than 100 entries within eight categories, a record number.

The AGIGARAM product family merges NAND flash, DRAM and a battery-free ultracapacitor power source into a highly reliable non-volatile memory system. When used as a write cache in enterprise-class applications, AGIGARAM provides a performance-boosting building block while guarding against power failures and data loss. The entire AGIGARAM NVS implements the AGIGASAFE™ control protocol, a simple-to-use host-controlled I2C programming interface that ensures safe, reliable, secure operation at the system level. This protocol allows fine control over internal functions such as managing the NAND flash while precisely monitoring and tracking the health of the system.

For more than 20 years, CONNECT’s MIP Awards have served as a benchmark for predicting the most successful new products of San Diego companies. More than 800 of the city’s top executives, entrepreneurs and academics attended the ceremony last week at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel.
