ADC KRONE announced that it will highlight its fiber leadership through an expanded portfolio of Fiberto- the-X (FTTX) solutions at the 2010 FTTH Council Europe Conference, from 24-25 February at The FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa) in Lisbon, Stand 4.
With customers’ growing demand for more bandwidth, service providers are looking for ways to install fiber networks into single residential units and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) faster and more economically,” said Carsten Storbeck, director of Carrier Product Management for ADC KRONE in EMEA and Conference presenter. ADC KRONE’s comprehensive portfolio of solutions, which features a connectorized approach, saves time and money, and accelerates the deployment of next-generation networks designed to meet the ever-increasing demand for advanced services.”

ADC KRONE’s industry-leading solutions displayed at the Conference include:
• RealFlex™ 3 Drop Cables – Designed for MDUs, this product greatly reduces the
risk to bend-induced insertion loss created during installation.
• OmniReach® Multiport Service Terminal (MST) – This product features hardened
connector technology that is designed to withstand extremes in temperatures and
conditions, and offers robust environmental performance.
• Transition Box with DLX™ Adapters – This combination offers the ultimate plugand-
play solution for durable and reliable service connections in the outside
plant/final drop segment of the network.
• Fiber Optic Customer Outlet – This product enables easy and unobtrusive
terminations of fiber optic cables within an office, home or communication room.
• FAME® Splitter/Cassette Solution - This unique and universally applicable system
can be used in central office termination/splice frames, as well as in outside plant
splice cabinets or closures, and provides a secure housing for optical splitter
components.

ADC KRONE’s Expert Presents Deployment Best Practices
As part of the conference program, Storbeck will discuss “Deployment Best Practices” during a breakout session on 24 February, from 4:30- 5:45 pm. He will talk about how the effective utilization of connectorization technology throughout the access network achieves accessibility, flexibility and regulatory compliance, while realising the full potential of the optical budget. With improvements in optical active components set to bring additional optical budget, network operators adopting connectorization strategies can guarantee network scalability – either in terms of bandwidth, distance or diffusion – at minimum OPEX, while delivering maximum subscriber satisfaction.
