Tiny 1.3-Megapixel Image Sensor offers advanced image processing
Avago Technologies has introduced the ADCC-3100 and claims it is the first one-fifth inch optical format, 1.3-megapixel small form factor (SFF) CMOS image sensor with advanced image processing, including spot metering capabilities. Avago's entry into the emerging SFF product category captures the changing requirements in the cellular phone market.
Sensors simplify brightness control in portable applications
Intersil’s ISL29001/2 light-to-digital sensors will suit applications where performance, flexibility and small size are critical. The devices are fully integrated to give customers a one-chip solution that converts light intensity to a digital output signal that can be fed directly into a controller for backlight control in portable applications.
Rugged inductive sensors offer wider sensing distance
Now available from Aerco is the Series 700, a range of rugged inductive sensors from Contrinex that sets new standards in reliability, strength and sensing distance. The whole sensor, including the sensing face, is machined from a single piece of stainless steel and can thus withstand extreme impact, high shock levels and is resistant to almost any chemical stress.
Next-Generation 90nm SuperFlash Technology will be from SST and TSMC
SST (SiliconStorage Technology and TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) today announced the two companies have signed a new technology development and licensing agreement that will offer the first licensable 90nm embedded flash technology. Under terms of the agreement, TSMC will license SST's next-generation 90nm SuperFlash technology as part of TSMC's embedded flash memory portfolio.
From £655, Integrated PXI Chassis and Controller Lowers Entry Cost for High-Performance PXI Systems
Engineers can now create a new PXI system at a significant cost savings compared to previous systems using the National Instruments PXI-1033 chassis with an integrated MXI-Express remote controller. As part of the company’s recognised aim of reducing the cost of test systems, the NI PXI-1033 chassis takes advantage of commercial off-the-shelf technology to reduce the cost required to start a PXI system. The chassis integrates PCI Express tech...
Light guides deliver even, linear light pattern
Recent developments in LEDs and acrylic optical structures have made it possible to deliver durable and cost-competitive rigid light guides able to provide even, linear light patterns like fluorescent and neon tubes. CML-IT’s rugged and cost-effective 7530 series of rigid light guides (RLGs) is available in diameters of 6.5, 10 and 14mm and has been designed for use in a wide range of applications.
Arrow is Freescale's Demand Creation Distributor of the Year
Freescale Semiconductor has presented Arrow Electronics with its ‘Demand Creation Distributor of the Year Award’ for the UK and Ireland. The award is in recognition of the business that the company has generated as a result of providing technical design-in support on Freescale technologies for customers in the region.
