Fibre-optic data transmission system for Industrial Ethernet from Harting
The new M12 microFX from HARTING is a family of active fibre-optic transceivers with the same dimensions as the industry standard M12 electrical connector, making it ideally suited to use in Industrial Ethernet and other industrial data-transmission applications.
Aeroflex delivers EvDO Rev. A signalling conformance solution
Aeroflex has become the first company to offer a comprehensive EvDO Rev. A signalling conformance solution following the delivery of a fully automated C.S0038-A-compliant suite of test cases for its 6402 CDMA AIME network emulator.
TI's SRC4392 Features Highest Performance Combo Sample Rate Converter for Professional Audio Applications
Texas Instruments has introduced a high performance, combo sample rate converter (SRC) from the company's Burr-Brown pro audio product line. The SRC4392 integrates a two-channel asynchronous SRC with a digital audio interface receiver (DIR) and transmitter (DIT). Featuring 144dB dynamic range, -140dB distortion and up to 216kHz sampling rates, the device is used in a variety of professional and broadcast audio applications, such as digital mixing...
Metal switches and keypads catalogue from Schurter
The new Metal Line Catalog provides an overview of the robust and vandal-proof input systems from Schurter. The input systems are subdivided into four product families, allowing the most appropriate solution to be selected according to the specific application requirements: Piezo switches are resistant to dirt and have an extremely long lifetime; Metal switches are vandal-proof and provide tactile input feedback; Piezo keypads are resistant to di...
Power Entry Modules for PCB mounting
SCHURTER's new power entry module series DD21 and DD22 have been designed especially for PCB mounting. The DD21 product is equipped with multiple functions including appliance connector, switching and fusing, while the DD22 series adds either standard or medical filter. Besides their maximum functionality, the compactness of these products also makes them ideally suited for use in equipment with low headroom. Particularly in the IT and telecom i...
Electro-magnets overcome the problems of residual magnetism
A new range of electro-magnets from Geeplus have been designed with ejector pins to enable them to overcome the problems of residual magnetism occurring when power to the device is switched off. Residual magnetism is common in electro-magnetic devices due to unavoidable very small air gaps which occur within the unit. Saturation tends to occur in the pole regions causing some residual field to remain when power is removed.
DDR3 Register for Memory Modules Simplifies Design and Saves Power
Texas Instruments has introduced what it says is the industry's first fully-integrated register and phase-locked loop (PLL) for DDR3 registered dual in-line memory modules (RDIMMs). This single-chip device supports high data rates of 800 mega transfers per second (MT/s) to 1,066 MT/s. The device also reduces power consumption and board space to simplify the design of next-generation DDR3 memory modules for servers and workstations.
Ohmite launches design discussion blog
US resistor manufacturer has established a blog to enable engineers and designers to talk to each other and discuss design ideas or problems.
Synplicity Software Supports Altera's New Stratix III FPGAs
Synplicity has announced its industry-leading Synplify Pro FPGA synthesis and Synplify DSP true DSP Synthesis software solutions have been upgraded to support Altera Corporation's new low-power, high-performance Stratix III FPGAs. Optimizations to these tools allow designers to achieve aggressive system performance requirements and time-to-market goals, while simultaneously minimizing area.
IHP and Europractice collaborate to give access to high-speed SiGe:C BiCMOS processes
Users of Tanner EDA tools are to get economical access to an analogue and mixed-signal, 0.25 micron Silicon Germanium Carbon (SiGe:C) BiCMOS process through a new collaboration with IHP’s pilot line in Frankfurt (Oder). Europractice has developed design kits for Tanner EDA’s L-Edit family of integrated circuit layout tools to ensure compatibility of designs with their process.
