TI's OMAP Applications Processor Selected as a Development Platform for Windows CE 6 Beta Release
Texas Instruments has announced that Microsoft has selected TI's OMAP2420 applications processor as the first ARM11-based development platform for its Windows CE 6 beta release distributed this week to device makers worldwide. A Board Support Package for TI's OMAP2420 processor will be integrated into the Windows CE 6 Platform Builder toolkit.
635nm Red Laser Diodes use less Power
Photonic Products, the UK optoelectronics device manufacturer and laser diode specialist, has announced the introduction of two new 635nm, 5mW laser diodes from Opnext, Inc. The operating current on these diodes has been decreased by 50 percent, resulting in extended battery lifetime and lower power consumption without compromising their 5mW optical output power. Their aspect ratio is also improved from 3.8 to 3.1.
