NEC Electronics and ELMOS to enter Strategic Partnership
NEC Electronics and ELMOS Semiconductor AG are going to join forces demonstrated by entering into a worldwide long-term partnership. The agreement will encompass the joint development, cross-use of engineering and manufacturing services as well as common marketing of products for the automotive and industrial markets.
Tensilica Adds AMR WB+ Audio / Speech Decoder and Encoder to HiFi 2 Audio Processor Software Library
Tensilica has announced that it has added the AMR WB+ audio / speech decoder and encoder to the software library for its HiFi 2 audio processor. The AMR WB+ (Adaptive Multi Rate Wideband plus) speech codec improves on the available AMR Wideband speech codec by adding support for stereo signals and higher sampling rates, providing higher quality at low bit rates.

10G copper passes interoperability test
Phyworks has announced it has successfully completed system level interoperability testing of its 10Gbps active equalizer in an SFP+ active copper cable assembly. Carried out at the University of New Hampshire’s Interoperability Laboratory, the testing verified that copper cables integrating the PHY2060 active equalizer/retimer IC could achieve 100% error free transmission passing data between different switches.
Wireless terminals allow 2G, 2.5G or 3G wireless communication
TDC has introduced five new wireless terminals allowing 2G, 2.5G or 3G wireless communication and location services to be added seamlessly to any hardware platform with an RS232 or USB port. The terminals are built on modules from embedded wireless world leader Cinterion by Spanish integrator Matrix – a new franchise for TDC.
