Xilinx And Arm Announce Development Collaboration
Xilinx, Inc and ARM today announced they are collaborating to enable ARM processor and interconnect technology on Xilinx FPGAs. Xilinx is adopting ARM Cortex processor IP, using performance-optimized ARM cell libraries and embedded memories for their future programmable platforms. In addition, ARM and Xilinx are working to define the next-generation ARM® AMBA® interconnect technology that is enhanced and optimized for FPGA architectures.

BASF reports sales and earnings better than expected
BASF today announced first figures for the third quarter of 2009. Sales were €12.8 billion and thus 19% less than in the same period of 2008 and 2.4% more than in the second quarter of 2009. The preliminary figure for third-quarter income from operations (EBIT) before special items was €1.25 billion, 20% less than in the same period of 2008 and 9.5% more than in the second quarter of 2009.
