Analog switch features low On-resistance, low leakage
Anglia Components is stocking and offering free samples of the ADG1412L from Analog Devices, a high-performance, quad-channel analog switch designed to meet the demands of precision signal routing in various applications.
With its advanced design and robust features, the switch offers exceptional performance in terms of signal fidelity, switching speed, and reliability.
It is a monolithic complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) device containing four independently selectable analog switches designed using the iCMOS process.
Industrial CMOS (iCMOS) is Analog Devices modular manufacturing process that combines high voltage CMOS and bipolar technologies.
Featuring four independently controlled single-pole, single-throw (SPST) switches, this analog switch allows seamless and efficient routing of analog signals within a system.
Each switch offers low on-resistance and low leakage, ensuring minimal signal distortion and maximum signal integrity.
This makes the ADG1412L ideal for use in precision measurement instruments, data acquisition systems, audio systems, and other high-fidelity applications where signal quality is paramount.
Four SPST switches can be turned on with logic level signals and are compliant with the JEDEC standard for both 1.2 V and 1.8 V logic levels. The devices also feature an external VL supply which provides flexibility for lower logic control.
One of the key highlights of the ADG1412L is its wide operating voltage range and flat on-resistance profile over the full analog input range, this ensures excellent linearity and low distortion (1.5 Ω typical) when switching signals.
These features allow the analog switch to interface seamlessly with a variety of analog and digital systems.
Additionally, the device boasts low power consumption, making it suitable for battery-powered and portable applications where energy efficiency is critical.
Each switch in the device conducts equally well in both directions when on and has an input signal range that extends to the supply’s voltage range. In the off condition, signal levels up to the supply are blocked and guarantees switch off when digital inputs are floating.
The ADG1412L analog switch offers engineers a versatile and reliable solution for precision signal routing in a wide range of applications including Automated test equipment, Data-acquisition systems, Battery-powered systems, Sample-and-hold systems, FPGA and microcontroller-based systems, Audio and Video signal routing, Communications equipment and Relay replacement.
To support developers, Analog Devices have made the EVAL-ADG1412LEBZ evaluation board available. The EVAL-ADG1412LEBZ evaluation board allows developers to quickly evaluate the features available on the ADG1412L.
The evaluation board features four test points and pads for subminiature Version B (SMB) sockets allowing connection to each of the source pins, power to the board is via three screw terminals and an onboard 5-pin header is provided for the user-defined digital voltage, if required.
