Solid State Supplies adds low power microcontroller line Energy Micro to its linecard
Solid State Supplies has signed a distribution agreement with Energy Micro, supplier of the world's lowest power microcontrollers. Solid State Supplies will distribute Energy Micro's EFM32 microcontrollers in the UK from September 1st. The EFM32 is the first 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 product that addresses the low power mixed-signal microcontroller market and is ideal for ultra-low power and battery operated applications.
SoliEnergy Micro's innovative approach to power saving puts them well ahead of the competition whilst still employing an industry standard platform. In an era when milliwatts matter, Energy Micro leads the field and fits perfectly into our processor and embedded platforms portfolio, comments John Macmichael, Commercial Director, Solid State Supplies.
Energy Micro has developed the world's lowest power microcontrollers, based on modern and powerful microprocessor architectures. The company's EFM32 series delivers a unique combination of 32-bit performance with ultra-low power consumption comparable to today's 8-bit microcontrollers. The devices feature a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor and offer fast interrupt response while maintaining excellent code density. Low standby current and the use of various energy modes keep power consumption to a minimum. The devices are equipped with a broad range of autonomous peripherals that can operate without requiring CPU intervention, to further decrease power consumption. The EFM32 family is available in standard, application specific and custom versions.
