Lauterbach supports TI’s new C29x-based microcontroller
Lauterbach’s TRACE32 development tools now support Texas Instruments F29H85x microcontroller series for real-time control applications. TRACE32 tools support includes debugging of the C29x and all of the other cores as well as read and write access to the chip’s internal flash memory.
The F29H85x series was disclosed at the latest electronica exhibition and is built on TI's new 64-bit C29x digital signal processor core. It achieves more intelligent and secure processing in automotive and industrial applications and offers improved integrated safety and security features. Featuring comprehensive diagnostics and error-checking mechanisms, the F29H85x series was engineered for compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 automotive and industrial safety standards, with levels up to ASIL-D and SIL 3.
Lauterbach's TRACE32 development tools provide hardware-accelerated debugging of the C29x cores as well as the Arm Cortex-M4 core implemented in the HSM-IP-block and read/write access to the chip's internal flash memory. Embedded developers therefore do not need any additional flash programming hardware. The TRACE32 tools consist of the universal PowerView debugging software and debug accelerator modules. Lauterbach's intelligent PowerDebug modules provide the fastest download speeds and shortest response times available for efficient debugging and test automation.
The unique OS-awareness feature of TRACE32 provides important insights into applications and the operating systems they run on. TRACE32 OS-aware debugging can query and display all OS objects such as threads, message queues, and more. This enables engineers to better understand how they behave and how they use chip resources.
“The F29H85x microcontroller by Texas Instruments combines more intelligent and secure processing” says Norbert Weiss, Managing Director at Lauterbach GmbH. “With the latest support of TRACE32, engineers can use our market-leading debug and trace tools right from the start."
Lauterbach’s TRACE32 development tools enable embedded developers to evolve their applications based on more than 1.600 Texas Instruments MCUs and MPUs even faster and easier.
