Application processors target value-conscious engineers
The i.MX 6ULL applications processors from NXP Semiconductors is available at Mouser Electronics. The processors deliver up to 30 percent more power efficiency than the family’s nearest competitors and are specifically designed for value-conscious engineers and developers working on cost-effective solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) consumer and industrial markets, including gateways, access control, human machine interfaces, and other connected applications.
The processors deliver ultra-efficient performance in low-power, space-constrained embedded environments. The processors build upon the i.MX 6 series, introducing a single ARM Cortex-A7 processor core running up to 528MHz with 128KBytes of L2 cache and 16-bit DDR3/LPDDR2 support and is offered in a 14mm × 14mm package with a temperature (TJ) range of minus 40 to 105 degrees Celsius.
Based on an advanced power management architecture, the devices feature multiple energy-saving modes, dynamic voltage and frequency scaling and flexible power gating in low power modes through an integrated power switch.
The i.MX 6ULL includes a parallel LCD controller that supports up to WXGA (1366×768) resolution, a parallel camera sensor interface, and Enhanced Serial Audio Interface.
In addition, on-chip communication interfaces include two high-speed USB On-The-Go with PHY ports, two 12-bit analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) with up to 10 total input channels, and a variety of other interfaces, including UART, I2C, and I2S serial audio.
The processors’ integrated power management, security unit, and wide range of connectivity interfaces provide new ways to address performance scalability and low power for secure IoT applications.
The devices, ideal for simple and low-cost PCB design, are supported by an evaluation kit that enables connection to an LCD display, audio playback, and other connectivity options.
