Swissbit to showcase secure data retention at GPEC 2024

GPEC stands as Europe's largest event exclusively for police and other security agencies, not open to the public. Swissbit will showcase its cutting-edge iShield Archive solution in Hall 2, Booth J41. The microSD card is specially designed for the secure retention of video and image recordings, rendering it perfectly suited for police agencies, government authorities, and other organisations where the confidentiality of sensitive data and privacy protection in accordance with GDPR are paramount. Several state police agencies in Germany have already adopted iShield Archive cards for use in drones.

The secure storage of evidence is pivotal in police operations. With iShield Archive, police agencies can guarantee that video and image records of crime scenes, deployments, or surveillance remain confidential and secure against unauthorised access at all times. The microSD card utilises hardware-based encryption with the robust AES 256-bit standard, ensuring top-tier security. Compatible with all widely-used camera types, it seamlessly integrates into existing systems. iShield Archive offers an additional security layer for drones, body cams, and various camera types.

Plug-and-play for simplified operation

iShield Archive’s setup process is straightforward. Using the complimentary iShield Archive Tool (iAT), administrators can adjust security settings and allocate user PINs. Once configured, the iShield Archive card reliably records data on its hardware, encrypted with AES 256-bit.

Access protection through user pIN and WORM mode

Upon turning off the camera or removing the microSD card, the data recorded on iShield Archive becomes inaccessible. It can only be read, downloaded, or deleted via the iAT software and the correct user PIN. Optionally, an admin PIN can protect the data from deletion, making iShield Archive suitable for environments requiring role-based access control. In the WORM (write once, read many) mode, regular users, with only their user PIN, have read-only access, thus cannot modify or delete data. This approach is especially beneficial for storing evidence or other sensitive data that must be archived in a legally secure and unalterable manner.
