Memory cards target cost-sensitive applications
The F-50 series is an extension to Swissbit’s existing F-60/F-600 CFast 2.0 card portfolio. It is available at Rutronix. This new series delivers up to 500/330MB/s read/write performance for cost sensitive applications. The new F-50 products complement the high performance, high endurance durabit F-60 devices by offering a DRAM-less product for cost sensitive applications with use cases that don’t require the extreme IOPS rate and endurance life delivered by F-60 cards.
The cards employ a flash controller designed for industrial use, and firmware features enhance the flash retention and endurance.
Global wear levelling, read retry, as well as active and passive data care management sustain the storage capability of the MLC based cards over the complete lifetime.
The S.M.A.R.T. lifetime monitoring tool allows a detailed in system analysis on the actual usage and expected lifetime.
The F-50 CFast cards benefit from a high sustained sequential read and write performance of up to 500MB/s and 330MB/s respectively. For random access intensive applications the user can expect up to 53k IOPS for random read and 74k IOPS for random write.
The cards are ideal for hard disk drive (HDD) or CompactFlash replacement in industrial, embedded, automotive and NetCom applications with medium performance requirements.
The F-50 series features a high-speed SATA-III 6.0Gbit/s interface, and is available with capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The cards operate from a 3.3V supply, drawing active power of 1.4W and less than 17mW in device-sleep mode. F-50 qualification samples will be available end of June 2016 at Rutronik.
