CodeMeter industrial memory cards offer comprehensive software protection

The object of the cooperation between Swissbit, Wibu-Systems and Hyperstone is to offer B2B users memory solutions combining top quality with comprehensive protection. The basis for those solutions is provided by Swissbit’s memory media, which meet all the demands of the industrial market, including compatibility with the required interfaces, in conjunction with the 'CodeMeter' software protection for industrial applications from Wibu-Systems. The CodeMeter is operated by a highly reliable Flash controller from Hyperstone, which is characterized by industrial quality (high speed and long life) and outstanding Flash handling.

The new CmCards using CodeMeter technology are available now through Wibu-Systems. The memory cards are insensitive to shock and vibration, dust, damp and strong electrical and magnetic fields. They operate in a broad temperature range from -25°C to +85°C. Swissbit's intelligent 'wear-leveling' ensures maximum write frequency by spreading all data access evenly across the full Flash memory area. The S.M.A.R.T. feature (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) delivers continuous status reports on key durability parameters. The integrated CodeMeter software protection guarantees industrial users security of their embedded software and production data against product piracy in relation to machinery, plant and controllers. CodeMeter also enables flexible software licensing, opening the way to new business models such as Pay-per-Use or Feature-on-Demand.

Swissbit is using CodeMeter to manufacture CmCards as the CmCard/CF in the form of a Compact Flash card, as the CmCard/SD for the SD interface, and as the CmCard/µSD for the micro-SD interface. The complete security solution to prevent industrial product piracy is being produced exclusively in Germany to protect in-house know-how. The memory specialist is also handling the life-cycle management, and guarantees long-time availability with a fixed bill of materials (BOM).
