ACAL Technology & GSI cut high-speed SRAM lead-times by at least 10 weeks
ACAL Technology is offering high speed SRAM using a unique manufacturing process which will enable OEMs and CEMs to cut current lead-times of 18 to 35 weeks, from other vendors, to just 8 to 14 weeks for the second-source GSI alternatives.
GSIACAL Technology’s Senior Product Manager, Mike Farquharson comments; “ACAL’s engineering teams can cross-reference and sample second-source SRAMs which are fit, form and function replacements for virtually any existing high-speed SRAM, allowing OEMs to reduce the current industry lead-times by a minimum of 10 weeks. As the only company to focus their entire manufacturing output on high-speed SRAM, GSI has a unique perspective and long-term commitment to SRAM. Their products typically have higher rated specifications than competitive products so many of the second-source alternatives that ACAL will sample can provide an additional edge on system performance whilst remaining competitively priced.”
GSI SRAMs are also covered by a 7-year product lifetime support guarantee, which allows designers to future-proof their designs be removing the uncertainty that a broad-line manufacturer may withdraw from the memory market.
Applications which could second-source to GSI SRAM include networking, switches, routers and base-stations as well as VoIP, DSP, DSL line cards and modems. OEMs in the industrial, medical and military sectors could also cut lead times and increase system speeds by second-sourcing GSI SRAMs.
