Syslogic integrates NVIDIA’s Jetson AGX Orin
NVIDIA just introduced the Jetson AGX Orin edge AI platform. The system-on-module (SOM) elevates edge AI applications to a new level.
Later this year, Syslogic will integrate the Jetson AGX Orin module into its AI rugged computers to make the technology available to agricultural and railroad applications, construction equipment, or autonomous mobile robots (AMR).
As a Preferred Partner in the NVIDIA® Partner Network, Syslogic is announcing new rugged edge computers based on the newly introduced NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin edge AI platform for Q3/2022. Syslogic develops and manufactures robust, AI-assisted embedded systems for agricultural robots, agricultural and construction machinery, as well as specialty and railway vehicles.
NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin – Paving the way for future applications
With up to 275 TOPS, Jetson AGX Orin delivers eight times the AI performance of the previous module, Jetson AGX Xavier. The new Orin module was specifically developed for the next generation of autonomous robots, vehicles, and machines. Moreover, the module features an extremely high-performance ARM Cortex multi-core CPU. Thanks to this integrated approach, the Jetson AGX Orin module can simultaneously process computer vision and robotic tasks.
Florian Egger, Head of Sales at Syslogic, says: “NVIDIA’s Jetson AGX Orin will take robotics and edge AI applications to a completely new level.” Syslogic, in turn, ensures that the technology can be used even in demanding environmental conditions, explains Egger.
Syslogic combines the Jetson AGX Orin with a proprietary carrier board designed specifically for heavy industrial use. In addition, Syslogic uses extremely robust housing and screw-on interfaces for its fanless edge computers. Syslogic’s rugged computers have ranked among the most robust embedded systems on the market. They are based on the previous Jetson modules and used all over the world. They are certified to current industry standards and meet IP67 and IP69 protection classes.
Developer kits are available for order now
The Jetson AGX Orin developer kits are now available for order from NVIDIA distributors. The tech company has announced that series production of the modules will start in July. Syslogic will launch its rugged computer based on the Jetson AGX Orin in Q3/22.
Florian Egger says: “For the upcoming rugged computers, Syslogic is integrating all the features to drive autonomous applications across various industries.” Syslogic wants to further expand its market position with the Jetson AGX Orin based products, says Egger. Therefore, Syslogic is also developing embedded systems based on the smaller Jetson NX Orin modules.
