XCHARGE has passed the most challenging conformity tests and reviews to be further certified according to the German measurement and calibration law ("Mess- und Eichrecht"): The smart e-vehicle DC charger C6EU just achieved the Modul D Certification which proves the use of a fully functional QA system in production.

In December 2022, the C6EU already received the Modul B Type-Examination Certificate ("Baumusterprüfbescheinigung") from the CSA Group. So now XCHARGE's most popular DC charger complies with one of the world's strictest calibration laws - paving the way for further installations across Europe. Thanks to the certifications, users of the C6EU can be sure to benefit from a proven reliable, safe, and transparent charging process and worry-free billing. Whereas CPOs (Charge Point Operators) can be sure to fulfill legal requirements for installing XCHARGE's C6EU in public and semi-public spaces - and for taking advantage of funding programmes for charging infrastructure.

In 2014, the European Parliament passed the EU Directive 2014/94/EU which Germany incorporated into the measurement and calibration act ("Mess- und Eichrecht") as of 1st April 2019. This act and the corresponding measurement and calibration ordinance ("Mess- und Eichverordnung") standardise the charging processes of electronic vehicles (EVs) in Germany. It stipulates that all new charging stations must be equipped with charging systems that display the price per energy unit, the exact energy quantity in kilowatt hours (kWh) as well as the start, end, and duration of the charging process. The data for each charging process is stored for possible later review in accordance with the strict European data protection regulations so that the user and the CPO have full transparency at any time.

The smart high-power DC charger C6EU demonstrably fully complies with all requirements of the German calibration law. With the C6EU, billing can be done to the nearest kilowatt hour as the amount of electricity charged reliably corresponds to the specified delivery quantity. This further adds to the positive user experience with XCHARGE's DC charger, which delivers transparent information about the charging process while keeping the data secure at all times.

For CPOs the C6EU is a applicable charging solution in public and semi-public spaces: Its smart power distribution mechanism delivers a maximum output power of 60kW to 150kW for fast charging and guarantees an optimised operation efficiency and utilisation. With the latest certifications, XCHARGE helps energy companies, fleet operators, or parking lot operators meet the eligibility requirements for charging infrastructure: Charging stations that comply with calibration laws are eligible for funding programmes for charging infrastructure - which ultimately helps CPOs reduce acquisition and operating costs.

"We are fully committed to keeping high standards of product and production quality", says Simon Hou, CEO of XCHARGE. "The efforts we put into the German certification for the C6EU will be applied also to our other DC and HPC chargers in the future. In any case, being certified according to the strictest calibration laws will also create confidence for our chargers among users and clients across all European countries."
