Wireless hub drives up productivity, cuts time wasting
A new product developed to make meetings more efficient and productive has been created in collaboration by Fonrad Business Supplies and Black Box Network Services, a leading technology solutions provider. Using Black Box’s ‘Coalesce Wireless Collaboration Solution’, companies can easily create zones where, during quick ad-hoc meetings, screen content from multiple notebooks, tablets and smartphones can be shared on a single screen.
Teams gathering at the screen can then rapidly share information using their preferred visualisation tools.
Coalesce is a smart wireless hub, linking screen content from multiple local users’ devices onto a single connected screen.
Supporting displays up to full HD (1080p) resolution, it can provide standalone WLAN connectivity and be connected to a network, allowing remote users not in the meeting to be connected and share their screen content as well. It is easy to set up, plus tablet and smartphone apps are available for iOS and Android devices.
Notebooks can be connected as well and it is not necessary to install any specific software for Coalesce. Instead, users can access the wireless hub via a web browser.
Coalesce is a cost effective method to create small meeting zones for ad-hoc, short sessions. Touch screen input is also supported for relevant displays and interactive boards.
Shawn Silberhorn, Supplier Business Development Manager, Conrad Technology Centrum (CTC) commented: “As a company, we are very close to our customers, who are required to improve productivity all the time. Lean and agile work concepts are changing the way meetings are held. Shorter, more interactive sessions and visualisation of work status is becoming very important. Coalesce is a great way for Conrad to offer an easy to operate tool for its customers to become more effective and efficient.”
Hans-Peter Kuhnert, EMEA Vice President of Sales at Black Box, added: “We are observing that younger employees in their late twenties or early thirties are coming to work often bringing their own devices such as smartphones or tablets (BYOD: Bring Your Own Device). Cloud Services and web interfaces for many enterprise software applications allow the use of such devices. Plus, this generation is more used to employ video content in research and solution development. Especially companies using agile work methods such as Scrum and daily stand-up meetings need areas where teams get together for frequent but short meetings where they can review progress and agree next steps.”
