Mini PCIe card enables Bluetooth and WiFi coexistence
The BVM Group has announced a new expansion card, the STA-MU, which provides an easy-to-use method of adding Bluetooth and WiFi to any embedded or PC with a MiniPCIe or a PCI Express mini-slot. The module is compatible with both PCIe and USB interfaces with the host machine.
A keThe STA-MU supports 802.11b/g, giving data rates up to 54Mbps, and Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR, which provides data rates up to 3Mbps. A maximum of seven separate Bluetooth devices can be supported simultaneously. WiFi security is ensured through the provision of the WPA, WPA2 and 802.1X protocols within the card.
Typical applications include multimedia streaming over Bluetooth over WLAN to external displays, device sharing and the implementation of multi-device, multi-technology wireless networks.
