Industry’s highest power handling L-band SMT limiter
M/A-COM Technology Solutions has announced the introduction of an L-band limiter which the company claims features four times the power handling capability than the nearest competing alternative. The 200W CW (Continuous Wave) power MADL-011014 is suited for demanding applications requiring high peak and CW power receive protection in Air Traffic Management and Radar systems.
Operating over a bandwidth of 1-2GHz, the limiter features 200W CW power handling and up to a 1000W of peak power handling under 300μs and 10% duty cycle pulse conditions. The passive, fully matched device integrates the equivalent of 19 discrete diode and passive components into a single low RGA, fully hermetic package measuring a compact 10.1x6.2x3.2mm. The MADL-011014 provides 0.35dB insertion loss and 19dBm flat leakage power at +55dBm.
