Cervoz has introduced its advanced MEC-WIFI-2142B-30, a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi 6E module designed to significantly enhance wireless connectivity.

Speed and reliability

Wi-Fi 6E brings the new 6GHz band into play, adding seven additional superwide 160MHz channels to alleviate congestion in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The MEC-WIFI-2142B-30 fully utilises this technology, offering speeds up to six times faster than Wi-Fi 5. By operating on the less crowded 6GHz band, this module ensures a clear, high-speed data path, even in dense environments.

Tri-band prowess

The tri-band capability of the MEC-WIFI-2142B-30 provides comprehensive frequency coverage, operating across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and new 6GHz bands. This offers flexibility and backwards compatibility with older Wi-Fi standards, ensuring connectivity across all Wi-Fi generations.

Low latency performance

The MEC-WIFI-2142B-30 delivers a responsive connection, reducing latency by 75% compared to Wi-Fi 5. This low latency is crucial for real-time applications such as video conferencing, time-sensitive networking (TSN) in Industry 4.0, and augmented reality experiences, offering sub-1ms latency that rivals even 5G networks.

Enhanced capacity and efficiency

The Wi-Fi 6E solution from Cervoz optimises network efficiency through advanced features like OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access), TWT (Target Wake Time), and 1024 QAM (1024 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). These features allow for more simultaneous device connections without compromising performance, efficiently managing network traffic and power consumption.

Robust security

Wi-Fi 6E mandates WPA3 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 3) for all devices, eliminating WPA2 compatibility and significantly enhancing network security. The MEC-WIFI-2142B-30 provides a secure and trusted connection on the 6GHz band, with WPA3 offering robust protection for sensitive data, particularly in industrial environments.

Designed for the future

As Wi-Fi 6E adoption increases, networks will be well-prepared to handle the growing demand. The MEC-WIFI-2142B-30 features an M.2 2230 (A+E key) interface, facilitating easy integration into various industrial computer designs.

Advantages of Wi-Fi 6E over Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5

The expanded 6GHz spectrum of Wi-Fi 6E provides more channels and less congestion, resulting in lower latency, higher data rates, and more reliable connections. These enhancements are particularly critical for industrial applications, where real-time monitoring, control, and data transmission are essential for smooth and efficient operations. Unlike Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6E devices benefit from exclusive use of the 6GHz spectrum, offering a high-speed, low-latency experience in congested environments.
