Altai Technologies Introduces the World’s First Carrier Grade 802.11n Long Range Outdoor Super WiFi Base Station

Altai Technologies, a carrier-grade Super WiFi equipment supplier today introduced the world’s first 802.11n long range outdoor Super WiFi Base Station – Altai A8n Super WiFi Base Station.

The Altai A8n is a multi-radio base station utilizing MIMO smart antenna technologies and a patented signal processing algorithm to provide the industry’s best coverage per base station. The multiple antennas of the A8n can be configured to provide 10 times larger area coverage, compared to the conventional 802.11n access point. Key features of the A8n Super WiFi Base Station architecture will include:

• The highest throughput performance and coverage in the market, it can achieve 1.7 km in the LOS environment with standard WiFi clients.
• Supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation on each radio, this provides the flexibility for the application in different scenarios
• Multi-sector advanced smart antenna technology providing 90 to 360-degree and large vertical beam-width coverage with minimal holes in dense urban environments
• Co-location with existing GSM/CDMA/3G/WiMax cell sites and therefore most of the site acquisition costs, wired backhaul costs and radio planning works can be saved

The Altai A8n has further strengthened the Altai 802.11n series product family to provide the next generation wireless solution for service operators. “With our Super WiFi technology and product development experience, we have pushed the 802.11n technology beyond its limit by bringing the highest performance 802.11n access point to the market, and the beauty of the A8n architecture design is existing A8 customers can be upgraded by just swapping the base units, and all other installation including antenna will remain unchanged.” said Chi-hung Lin, President & CEO of Altai Technologies.
