Swissbit introduces Hardware Security Module for AWS IoT Greengrass
Swissbit is once again exhibiting at Europe's IT security trade fair to present its latest solutions for data and device protection.
Amongst the highlights, the hardware security module iShield HSM will be unveiled for the first time at the Cyber Security Council Germany. The retrofittable USB stick makes it possible to secure IoT devices in the cloud services AWS IoT Greengrass infrastructures. Swissbit will also showcase further hardware-based security solutions and concepts that address the growing requirements for IoT and cyber security.
"it-sa is an ideal platform for exchange with visitors, customers, and partners. In my role as the new General Manager for Swissbit Security Solutions, I am particularly pleased to be presenting a brand-new product at the show. With iShield HSM, we are emphasising our strategy of offering customised plug-and-play security solutions that sustainably reduce integration efforts," says Claus Gründel, General Manager Embedded IoT Solutions at Swissbit since August.
iShield HSM: Secure hardware protection for cryptographic keys
In the form of a USB-A stick, the hardware security module (HSM) offers secure storage of cryptographic keys and credentials required for identification, authentication, and registration of IoT devices.
It is possible for system integrators to upgrade and retrofit existing AWS IoT Greengrass devices, like gateways or industrial controllers, with a hardware security module thanks to iShield HSM's qualification for Hardware Security Integration (HSI) in AWS IoT Greengrass.
Once plugged in, the stick provides the maximum level of hardware security for the respective IoT device’s private key and certificate. iShield HSM is tamper-proof thanks to its hardware-embedded secure element used (CC EAL6+) via chip-on-board technology.
