ifm electronic is introducing the innovative O2U5 vision sensor, a dual-purpose device designed to revolutionise surface and contour inspection, as well as code and character recognition, in industrial settings.

The O2U5 vision sensor combines two sensors in one compact unit, delivering exceptional inspection capabilities. It enables the simultaneous analysis of surfaces and contours, alongside the reading of QR codes and characters. This integrated approach ensures thorough quality control throughout production and final assembly processes.

Built for ease of use, the O2U5 features multiple interfaces, including IO-Link, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with a range of control systems. Its intuitive software, equipped with application wizards and detachable memory, simplifies both setup and operation, significantly reducing configuration time and ensuring peak performance.

The O2U5 offers various lighting options, including red light, RGBW, and infrared, giving users the flexibility to select the most suitable option for their specific application. Coupled with a choice of lenses—standard, wide-angle, and telephoto—the sensor provides unmatched adaptability across different industrial environments.

The O2U5 enhances quality assurance processes by conducting detailed surface inspections and accurate code analyses. For instance, it can verify component compliance via QR codes while simultaneously performing final checks on the component's surface and contours.
