Advantech launches ITA-168/178 series with the latest Intel Celeron processor

Powered by the newest Intel Celeron processors and equipped with dual-channel DDR4 memory, these devices offer both embedded memory and a SO-DIMM expansion slot. With a computing performance boost of up to 3.5 times, they are ideal as controllers for traffic management and automated fare collection systems. Additionally, they function as versatile intelligent edge devices for data collection and processing in a variety of smart city and IoT applications.

Enhanced connectivity for diverse applications

The ITA-168 and ITA-178 series feature comprehensive I/O designs to meet a wide range of connectivity needs. They include 6 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and between 6 and 14 COM ports, providing versatile options for connecting external devices and controllers. These devices support various payment systems, including traditional tokens, contactless smart cards, and mobile payments. Enhanced COM 1 and 2 ports, operating at baud rates of 921600, ensure efficient data transmission. Furthermore, integrating Advantech iDoor modules with 2 mini PCIe slots allows for customised expansion for applications such as gate sensing, light indicators, WiFi/Bluetooth, and 4G/LTE.

The ITA-168 and ITA-178 series offer state-of-the-art connectivity and visual capabilities. Four independent LAN ports, each supporting speeds up to 2.5G (2500 Mbps), meet the demands of facial recognition, intranet, and voice intercom functions. The ITA-178 supports triple independent displays via 2 VGA/LVDS and 1 HDMI port, capable of up to 4k resolution. This enables simultaneous multiple displays on automatic gate machines and office monitors, enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, these devices offer opportunities for media advertising, enriching the customer experience with exceptional resolution and interactivity.

Compact and robust design with multiple optional functions

The ITA-168 and ITA-178 series are 20 to 30% smaller than their predecessors, the ITA-1611 and ITA-1711. Featuring a rugged, fanless design and a wide operating temperature range (-25 to 60°C), they ensure reliable operation in space-constrained, outdoor, high-vibration, and harsh environments. They are compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 and offer optional features such as NVRAM for data protection during power outages, TPM 2.0 for enhanced system security, and flexible installation options including wall-mount and desktop configurations. These features make the series an ideal solution for smart city infrastructure and machine automation applications.
