Element invested over $300m since 2020
Element Materials Technology (Element) has stengthened itself with connected technologies business, investing over $300m from the start of 2020. It provides carrier approvals in North America and Japan; regulatory capacity and relationships; and 5G capabilities and expertise.
The opening of its new center of excellence in Columbia, MD and the acquisition of AIRCOM have been followed by extensive investment in accreditation, expertise and capacity. Element has taken a strong position in 5G and the strategic program the business claimed that is has worked on the most 5G grants in the US market and has enabled technology customers to reach end markets quickly and competitively.
In addition to the acquisition of AIRCOM and the new center of excellence, Element acquired leading connected devices testing and certification business, PCTEST, and has increased its suite of accreditations, bringing device testing for a Tier 1 mobile device manufacturers. The amalgamation of these businesses now positions Element as a leader in the field, with approvals from every major carrier in North America and Japan.

The connected technologies business within Element now includes 21 laboratories in the USA, UK, Germany, China, South Korea, and Japan. Element’s global connected technologies testing capabilities includes significant capacity across extensive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and radio frequency (RF) testing chambers; specific absorption rate (SAR) systems; OTA systems; industry conformance; hearing aid compatibility (HAC); as well as 5GNR RF, RRM and Protocol conformance coverage across all three major US operators and major operators in Asia.
