Training videos make auto repairs safer
The Automechanika Frankfurt 2018 exhibition marked the unveiling of two comprehensive NSK training videos for garages looking to improve their skills when replacing wheel hub bearings. The videos, which present a clear approach to hub bearing replacement, also offer informative tips to ensure this type of repair is faster, safer and more reliable for customers across Europe.
Hub bearings are not the simplest of repairs, and can present a challenge to numerous repair shops. With widespread competition in most regions of Europe, mistakes by garage technicians can end up proving expensive. The new NSK videos set out to rectify this issue.
While the first video focuses on the replacement of a front Hub I generation bearing, the other concentrates on a Hub I bearing with an encoder for the ABS signal. Each video is comprehensive in its detail, offering both text descriptions of each step and pop-up tips to support the video images.
The training videos outline the special stages that need to be followed for a successful repair, complete with the correct tool types to deploy. It is hoped that the videos will help garages from making common mistakes, such as fitting Hub I generation bearings with encoders in the wrong orientation.
Both videos are available to view on the NSK Europe YouTube channel and the home page of NSK’s dedicated website for the Independent Automotive Aftermarket (IAM). Language versions available include for the first video English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Turkish and Russian and for the second video English, further languages to follow.
The videos form part of NSK’s added-value training offer for the IAM.
