The TUSB217A-Q1 is a 3rd-generation USB 2.0 high-speed signal conditioner from Texas Instruments, designed to compensate AC loss (due to capacitive load) and DC loss (due to resistive loss) in the transmission channel.

It is in stock at Digi-Key.

The device leverages a patented design to speed up transition edges of USB 2.0 high-speed signal with an edge booster and increases static levels with a DC boost function.

It includes a pre-equalisation function to improve the receiver sensitivity and compensate the inter-symbol interference (ISI) jitter in applications with longer cable lengths.

USB low-speed and full-speed signal characteristics are unaffected by the TUSB217A-Q1. The signal conditioner improves signal quality without altering packet timing or adding propagation delay or latency.

The TUSB217A-Q1 helps a system pass the USB 2.0 high-speed near-end eye compliance with a cable length up to 5 meters.

It is compatible with USB on-the-go (OTG) and battery charging (BC 1.2) protocols. The integrated BC 1.2 battery charging controller is enabled through a control pin.

The device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

Temperature range Grade 2 is -40°C to +105°C TA, and the supply voltage range is 2.3 V to 6.5 V.

Applications cover automotive infotainment and clusters, automotive head units and active cables, cable extenders, and backplanes.
