Shaping the future of the software-defined vehicle
dSPACE has joined the Scalable Open Architecture for Embedded Edge (SOAFEE) project as a voting member. dSPACE will bring more than 30 years of experience in simulation and validation to the project, drive solutions for system development and system integration, and help shape the future of the software-defined vehicle.
The initiative addresses the challenges of the increasingly complex vehicle software development. It aims for unified and scalable architecture for the cloud-based development and deployment of automobile software.
dSPACE has a deep understanding of the complexity of software development in the automobile industry and already offers relevant solutions for the development and testing of ECU software.
Vehicles in the future will have a completely new ECU architecture; more and more vehicle functions will be implemented with the help of software. This will also change the way software is developed and tested. As an active participant in the SOAFEE initiative, dSPACE will contribute its comprehensive experience in the field of developing and testing ECU software and develop relevant solutions and tools for software-defined vehicles.
“We look forward to working with the partners in the SOAFEE community. Together, we will pave the way to cloud-based development and make a significant contribution in bringing software-defined vehicles onto the roads faster,” said Andre Rolfsmeier, Director Strategic Product Management for Automated Driving and Software Solutions at dSPACE.
dSPACE is a provider of simulation and validation solutions worldwide for developing networked, autonomous, and electrically powered vehicles. The company's range of end-to-end solutions are used particularly by automotive manufacturers and their suppliers to test the software and hardware components in their new vehicles long before a new model is allowed on the road.
Not only is dSPACE a partner in vehicle development, engineers also rely on dSPACE when it comes to aerospace and industrial automation.
Its portfolio ranges from end-to-end solutions for simulation and validation to engineering and consulting services as well as training and support. With more than 2,200 employees worldwide, dSPACE is headquartered in Paderborn, Germany; has three project centres in Germany; and serves customers through its regional companies in the USA, the UK, France, Japan, China, Croatia, Korea, and India.
