Ispringen, September 2024 – Rutronik has expanded its product lineup with the VOMDA1271 from Vishay, a MOSFET driver designed specifically for the automotive industry. Certified to AEC-Q102 standards, this optically isolated driver boasts an integrated fast turn-off feature and operates without the need for an external power supply. By drawing all necessary power from the infrared emitter on the low-voltage primary side, the VOMDA1271 eliminates the need for a separate VCC, offering a cost-effective and easy-to-implement solution in a compact SOP-4 package. It is available now in tape & reel packaging at www.rutronik24.com.

The VOMDA1271 provides quick response times, with a switch-off time of just 0.7 ms and a switch-on time of 0.05 ms. Thanks to its photovoltaic gate array, it achieves an insulation test voltage of 3,750 VRMS without requiring additional power sources. This simplified design minimizes costs and conserves space, making it ideal for automotive applications.

Designed to perform reliably across a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C, the VOMDA1271 is perfect for automotive charging technologies and is compatible with microcontroller-based systems.

Key Features:

  • Integrated fast turn-off circuit
  • AEC-Q102 certified for automotive use
  • Open circuit voltage of 8.5 V (typical) at IF = 10 mA
  • Short-circuit current of 15 μA (typical) at IF = 10 mA
  • High insulation test voltage of 3,750 VRMS
  • Wide operating temperature range: -40 °C to +125 °C

Applications:

  • Vehicle pre-charging relays
  • Powerwall chargers
  • Gate drivers for high-voltage MOSFETs
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Customized Solid-State Relays (SSR)

The VOMDA1271’s advanced design and fast switch-off functionality make it a versatile solution for high-performance automotive electronics.
