Designed to meet the extreme conditions of the world’s railways, the ACS-2563 is APLEX Technology's first railway BOX PC with EN50155 compliance. The ACS-2563 is equipped with M12 connectors, ensuring tight connections and safety.

EN50155 certification ensures that a variety of factors have been examined to ensure the electronics endure extreme environments, with the certification divided into four categories - environmental, EMC, safety and performance test. Each category covers different factors. For instance, environmental test consists of vibration, shock, cooling and dry heat. When rolling stock is operating, different indoor/outdoor scenarios may be faced, meaning the ability to withstand harsh conditions is paramount, as well as helping drivers stay informed the status of the train. Moreover, the ACS-2563 is equipped with M12 connectors for LAN/Serial/USB/Power which not only guarantees water proofing (the sealed connectivity) but also ensures security and reliability to avoid damage from connections loosened due to heavy vibrations.

Powered by an Intel Atom D2550 processor, the ACS-2563 reduces power consumption and supports onboard 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1 x external CFast slot, 2 x mini PCIe expansion slots, providing ultra-expansion functions and storage. It also features WiFi/BT/3G. The watchdog timer ensures the device automotive recover from computer malfunctions. Furthermore, to meet the EN50155 standard requirement, the ACS-2563 can operate under temperatures ranging from -25°C to 70°C, and supports wide range 9~36V DC power input. These features make the boc PC suited to rolling stock applications.
